Mental Health Resources

If you are someone who needs assistance with mental health issues or know someone who does, please utilize the resources below.  There are people and organizations in the school and community who care greatly and want to help.  If you have any questions or think you need assistance in this process, please don't hesitate to contact our guidance department.   The resources listed below are suggestions and one program is not right for everyone, so please feel free to research, ask questions and find what meets your needs.

Safe Team - The Safe Team is comprised of East Stroudsburg faculty members who have been certified to assist students who are struggling in school for various reasons.  The Safe Team works with community partners along with school personnel to get students back on track.  Referrals can be made by students, faculty or family members if they are concerned about a student.  Click here for a referral form which can be filled out online.

Aevidum - Aevidum is a student led group with assistance from staff members.  Their motto is "We Got Your Back".  Their mission is to create a school community where everyone feels accepted, appreciated, acknowledged and cared for.  Any student can join and there will events featuring Aevidum throughout the school year.  Please see Ms. Huffman or Mrs. Krammes in the guidance office for more information.

Monroe County Mental Health Therapy Resources- This link directs you to a web site produced by Pocono Medical Center which lists many mental health resources, such as psychologists, psychiatrists, licensed mental health counselors, crisis assistance and other organizations.  This is a great resource with many options for mental health care.

Monroe County Resource Card  - A resource card provided by Monroe County which covers a vast array of services to assist and support families and individuals who may be experiencing financial and/or emotional issues.

New Perspectives - New Perspectives is a 24-hour, 7 days a week organization that can assist those in crisis.  If you believe you, a family member or friend are at risk of hurting themselves and you don't know what to do, this would be a good place to call.

Resolve - Resolve is a school-based outpatient program which provides counseling, psychiatric assessments and medication management.  Resolve has an office in our very own guidance office.  Therefore, students can be seen during the school day once the referral process is complete.  Referrals are made through the guidance office.

Drug and Alcohol Services - This is a pamphlet which provides resources for Monroe County residents struggling with drug and alcohol addiction.

PA Persevere - PA Persevere provides free crisis counseling to anyone feeling stressed, alone, afraid, anxious or overwhelmed during the Covid crisis.  Trained professionals are available 24/7 to provide tele-health services.
